The Manager of Advanced Analytics/ Data Science will work with team members to determine the best systems for managing an internal data warehouse that supports state-of-the-art analytics and the development of new capabilities in customer strategy, business intelligence, and advanced analytics. He/she will leverage analytical and critical reasoning to solve complex, multidimensional problems using quantitative information and applying statistical and machine learning techniques.Working as a member of the PepsiCo-Walmart Strategy and Analytics team will provide the Manager with an uncommon opportunity to gain experience that is highly valued in the broader PepsiCo organization. He/she will work across both business units - PepsiCo Beverages North America and PepsiCo Foods North America - while simultaneously serving the company's largest global customer, Walmart Inc., whose operations span multiple channels and both domestic and international markets.Responsibilities:- Conceive and test hypotheses based on inconclusive or incomplete data from unstructured data and creating structures that lend themselves to analysis through A/B testing to surface empirical insights and validate the hypothesis- Cleaning/transforming data used for analyses- Use problem-solving methodologies to propose creative solutions to solve a business problem- Identify, collect, and explore the right data used for predictive modeling and algorithm development- Design and develop state-of-the-art data-driven analyses using statistical & advanced analytics methodologies to solve business problems- Leverage pattern detection to come up with solutions to loosely defined problems- Build, validate, and test predictive models using machine learning techniques to explain or predict behavior and solve a variety of business and engineering problems- Ability to apply statistical techniques to time series data to interpret the underlying variables impacting sales- Mentor and develop junior analysts- Qualifications/Requirements- B.S./M.S. in the quantitative discipline required (e.g., mathematics, operations research, statistics, engineering, computer science, finance etc.) with 4+ years of experience in advanced data modeling and forecasting techniques- Expert-level querying skills using SQL languages such as SQL or Hive or Presto. Knowledge using window functions, joins and sub-queries.- Demonstrated ability to answer a seemingly simple business question with a pragmatic data-science led methodology.
