Objective

This position is responsible for delivering electromechanical solutions on railway products by ensuring testing, assembly, manufacture, field installation, and support ... follow DFQ and Electromechanical Metier discipline processes. Interact with other departments in carrying out principal duties. Will work under general supervision.

Responsibilities

Ensure his/her planning and budget (time + material) follow-up in collaboration with Product Architect and/or Product Design

Collaborate with Product Architect and/or Product Design for mock-up definition

Collaborate with the Product Architect and/or Product Design in Engineering

Participate and collaborate in Design for Manufacture and Testing activities

Develop technical functions with Engineering

Develop the operating, trailing and failure phases with Engineering

Ensure that all the requirements/specifications can be validated

Define and carry out the feasibility testing

Provide testing, analysis and build services as part of a dedicated team

Assist and conduct tests using vibration and environmental equipment to procedure and guidelines.

Build prototypes and support design within dedicated team.

Ensure prototype is complete and follows it's manufacturing, assembling and validation

Define the final (series) acceptance test specification in collaboration with Engineering

Propose the manufacturing process solution for every component and participate in the first equipment inspection/approval

Be involved as expert in technical expertise in case of customer service needs (REX)

Manage daily activity and material within the Electro-Mechanical Laboratory

Organize workspace using 5S principles and schedule of activities including testing and prototyping

Conduct the main laboratory tests available in order to define or approve tests plan proposals.

Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation, and to make recommendations to maintenance crew

Be in charge of defining and perform training to internal and external customers

Contribute to continuous improvement of electromechanical metier processes

Educational Requirements

High School degree or GED

Training or courses in vocational school or other technical field.

Experience

3 to 5 years related experience

Working knowledge of switch machines and trackside products.

Working knowledge of basic machine tools.

Skills

Hands on knowledge of basic machine tools.

Prototyping and repair skills.

Good oral and written communication skills

Attention to detail a must.

Good organizational skills
