*We are a Plaistow, NH based company with work located primarily in the Northeast Region. Applying for a position in a posted location does not guarantee assignment to that location. The workforce needs of Methuen’s projects determine the assignment of all staff, and therefore teammates are required to travel to various project site locations.


The Carpenter Lead is responsible for working with the Foreman to manage the trades team on all project objectives including overseeing budget and labor hours tracking, controlling production rates, applying and enforcing all safety regulations and policies, proactively plan work schedules and ensuring the proper tools, materials, and direction are managed and distributed.

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for enforcement of safety standards with own crew and others on worksite

  • Provide accurate layout for line and grade, from established benchmarks

  • Manage budget, job cost report, and labor production report review and analysis

  • Accurately plan and deliver trade work schedules

  • Deliver morning JSA meetings

  • Motivate and mentor trades

  • Ensure proper tools, materials and direction are given to trades

  • Oversight and management of corporate quality control program

Supervisory Responsibility

Position Type

This is a full-time position, hourly non-exempt position


Travel is primarily local, and limited to Northeast jobsite locations, during the business day; with occasional out of state and overnight travel. Less than 20% travel expected

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Minimum of five years of industrial or water/wastewater construction experience

  • Current licenses applicable to the trade

  • Ability to read drawings and specifications

  • Knowledge and understanding of prefabrication of forms for concrete footings, walls, columns and slabs, forming systems and all interior and exterior finishes

  • Knowledge of erection and dismantling of scaffolding and staging for all trades

  • Extensive concrete knowledge and experience

  • Strong knowledge of all company safety policies and procedures

Work Environment/Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time, and safely maneuver around the nearby presence of various construction equipment and vehicles, on an active construction site

  • Prepared to regularly encounter moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, and a variety of outside weather conditions

  • Able to climb temporary or permanent stairs, and ladders

  • Able to bend, squat, kneel, crawl, crouch, balance and stoop, reach on a regular basis

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
