Goodwill Industries of The Valleys, Inc. Human Resources Operations Manager in Roanoke, Virginia
The HR Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing general operations of the HR function to ensure effectiveness and excellence in operational processes and procedures, policies, and other HR systems/programs. In addition, they will implement and manage HR projects and serve as a strategic partner in developing progressive HR solutions.
Oversee and improve HR operations including new hire processing, employee changes, compliance, and HRIS management.
Ensure compliance in all HR processes including I9, EEO, AAP, FLSA, Wage and Hour, FMLA and all federal, state, or local requirements.
Manage HR Operations to ensure accuracy, consistency, and efficiency; set objectives and track progress.
Monitor internal HR recordkeeping, systems, and databases; monitor key HR metrics and produce reports.
Coordinate the design and implementation of organization/HR policies, GIV’s job classification system, and maintain the Employee Handbook.
Act as a consultant to managers and staff regarding internal processes.
Lead annual HR Calendar planning.
Lead HR Ops team, ensuring their continued high performance, engagement, and productivity.
Partner with leadership teams across the company to provide best practices, recommend HR process improvements and implement system enhancements that improve HR offerings to employees.
Assist HR Director with special projects and other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience, and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree or at least seven (7) years of related experience or any combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret the most complex documents relating to human resources and safety. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquires or complaints.
- Mathematical Skills
Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as determination of test reliability and validity analysis or variance, correlation techniques, sample theory, and factor analysis.
- Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply principles of logical thinking of a wide range of practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, equations, graphs, etc.). Ability to deal with a variety of abstract or concrete variables.
Experience & knowledge to include:
Experience in dealing with diverse populations.
HRIS systems usage and setup
Strong Computer skills
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SCP preferred.
A valid driver’s license and the ability to provide proof of insurance is required to drive personal vehicle on company business. Additionally, an acceptable motor vehicle record based on Goodwill guidelines is required to drive a company vehicle or transport program participants.
