City of Roanoke Police Officer in Roanoke, Alabama

Patrol city streets to deter crime, investigate suspicious activities, make arrests, prepare cases for court, investigate accidents, identify and correct public safety hazards, control traffic flow, prepare accurate reports, provide assistance to the public, book and monitor property and inmates, and provide assistance to other divisions. Other duties may be assigned as necessary. Must be willing to work at unscheduled times in emergencies.The Patrol Officer must obtain a thorough working knowledge of State and Federal Laws and Municipal Ordinances, be able to understand written and verbal operating procedures and instructions, have the ability to develop and maintain a professional working relationship with the public as well as other employees, remain calm and make sound decisions and respond appropriately during stressful situations and under adverse conditions, safely operate a patrol vehicle and all related equipment, have good communication skills, proficiency with weapons, and complete other duties as assigned.
