Department: Office of the Vice President of Business Services Job Summary/Basic Function: ESSENTIAL FUNCTION: Assisting payroll office staff with bi-weekly payroll preparation. Enters stipends and payroll deductions in the payroll system. RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Assist Payroll Office staff with bi-weekly payroll preparation. 2. Supports the workflow of departmental functions as assigned. 3. Enter tax codes into the computer system for new employees. 4. Enter various stipends and payroll deductions. 5. Assist employees that walk in or phone the office. 6. File and shreds documents. 7. Verify accuracy of reports and vendor checks. 8. Performs other job related duties as assigned by the Payroll Manager. Minimum Qualifications: EDUCATION: 1. High School Diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred. SKILLS: 1. High accuracy entering large amount of data. 2. Ability to work on the college's "Colleague" computer system. 3. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office: Excel and Word. 4. Strong interpersonal communication skills with the ability to interact with a diverse range employees. 5. Strong written and oral communication skills. 6. Ability to work collaboratively with others. EXPERIENCE: 1. 2 years working with payroll or other professional office environment. Preferred Qualifications: Special Instructions to Applicants: 1. Rate of pay is $15.00 per hour, maximum 28 hours per week; 2. Must be able to work afternoons; 3.. Recommended hire will be subject to background check and drug test; 4.
