About the Opportunity

Our National IT Office of the Chief Information Security Officer (OCISO) division is seeking a skilled and knowledgeable technologist to join their Security Architecture team as a Principal Cloud Security Architect.

As the Principal Cloud Security Architect, you will report to the VP of Security Architecture and use your technical acumen strong interpersonal skills ensure the alignment of security architecture and the roadmap for Federal Reserve System (FRS) cloud services integration.

What You Will Do: * Create a strategy and plan for secure operations of FRS cloud services and work with leaders across the FRS to implement plan. * Provide input on strategic plans related to cloud services used to support FRS business lines. * Oversee the development and maintenance of the FRS Cloud Security Strategy, Cloud Security Blueprint, and Cloud Security Roadmaps. * Be a coordination point for security activities occurring in FRS’ cloud environments (including design/architecture, build certification, security logging and monitoring, patching, security configuration, compliance orchestration, policy activities, etc.). * Understand and inform stakeholders of inherited risks from cloud services * Partner with key areas to develop/update applicable cloud security policies. * Partner with different System security communities to ensure broad adoption of security best practices. * Actively encourage and provide opportunities to improve cloud security across the FRS. * Maintain connections to industry peers, security leaders, and cloud experts and communicate with senior leadership and stakeholders on successes, opportunities, and challenges related to security and cloud architecture. * Work with application development and DevOps communities to ensure security is embedded throughout the entire development life cycle. * Balance business requirements with information and cyber security requirements. * Embrace the System IT Principles, including risk-based security, to guide daily decisions and strategic decision-making processes. * Occasional to frequent travel may be required, including overnight stays (15% - 20%).

Qualifications: * Bachelor’s degree in applicable discipline or the equivalent is required. * 10 years of experience in a complex enterprise IT environment, for large-scale systems across multiple hardware and software platforms. * 4 years of security architecture and emerging cybersecurity technology experience. * ISC2 CISSP and Cloud Security certifications are preferred. * Progressive leadership experience inclusive of leading technical staff and matrixed teams responsible for large mission-critical systems with complex network requirements. * Experience implementing security for IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS solutions in a public or government cloud environment. * Deep understanding of cloud security capabilities and gaps. * Experience learning, sharing, and implementing best practices, and the ability to determine operational processes, implement DevSecOps, DevOps, and deployment checklists * Experience adapting security practices and workforces to cloud. * Understanding of FedRAMP requirements and cloud-based security controls. * Ability to be hands-on and develop reference architecture and practical, consumable patterns. * Proven record of driving change and performance, executing plans within a defined multifaceted structure, and influencing senior level management and key stakeholders. * Ability to translate complex technical concepts to help customers understand their technological needs.
