Material HandlerOverview of PositionThe Material Handler is responsible for performing the physical tasks involved in the receiving, storing, and distributing of products, materials, parts, supplies and equipment. Quality is our top priority, and as such only qualified materials and components will be issued. All materials must meet specification outlined in the bills of materials and be inspected visually prior to acceptance at Receiving. Daily transactions and activities are in compliance with IWS SOP’s and Work Instructions and are governed by ISO and FDA regulations.
What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?
Maintain the tidiness and cleanliness of the Receiving area and stockroom in accordance with 5S principles
Inspect every incoming shipment & all boxes visually for damage and ensure correct delivery prior to signing or acknowledging the receipt
Process all incoming shipments & perform incoming inspection in accordance with Standard Operational Procedures (SOP) & Work Instructions (WI)
Ensure all goods delivered are received & processed in SAP within 24 hours
Tag part number/serial number stickers to products as required accurately and timely prior to putting products away
Store all records of incoming goods receipts and supplier packing slips electronically in accordance with SOP and WI
Refill inventory shelves and bins with parts and components in accordance with FIFO principles
Assist Inventory Associates with other inventory related tasks when required
Report damages & non-conformances found during incoming inspection to Purchasing and labels/moves non-conformance products into the quarantine area
Conduct weekly cycle count
May use (but not limited to) power equipment such as a forklift, hand tools, and other devices operated in a warehouse environment
Other duties as required
What are the requirements needed for this position?
High school diploma or equivalent work experience. Community college diploma/Logistics and/or Warehouse Management certificate/program a plus
1 plus years of warehouse experience.
Working knowledge of inventory control practices and procedures
Understanding of FIFO (First In First Out) principles
Good English communication skills (both verbal and written)
Ability to handle boxes up to 50 lbs.

Excellent organizational skills
Good inter-personal skills, accountable and responsible
Good knowledge in Office products such as Word and Excel
Knowledge of SAP is an asset
