Job Description

We are seeking an outstanding Post Bachelors Research Associate to join our multidisciplinary team focused on developing new ways to produce renewable fuels and chemicals using heterogeneous catalysis. The intern will join a team of researchers working on process and catalyst development aimed at efficiently converting renewable feedstocks such as biomass and waste into valuable fuels and chemical products.

The Research Associate will learn to prepare catalysts and characterize their structure and function. This work includes planning and conducting flow reactor experiments, preparing catalyst samples for various spectroscopic characterization methods, organizing and analyzing data, and presenting data to other members of the research team. As the candidate becomes fully proficient at performing these tasks, opportunities may arise for involvement in other group activities based on the Research Associate´s interests and abilities.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must have received a Bachelor’s degree within the past 24 months or within the next 8 months from an accredited college or university. Minimum overall GPA of 2.5 required.

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates must have some experience in the development of heterogeneous catalysts.

The ideal candidate is safety-oriented, possesses good written and oral communication skills, and has demonstrated an ability to collaborate effectively.

Preferred candidates will have a strong track record of demonstrating initiative, problem-solving, independent execution of routine research tasks, and ability to learn new concepts and research techniques.

3.5 GPA or higher is preferred. Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline
