SC Department of Public Safety Program Coordinator I (Lead Academic and Career Advisor for Gamecock Gateway) in Richland County, South Carolina

Job Responsibilities

As the lead advisor for the Gamecock Gateway program, and as a member of the Academic and Career Advising team, supports an assigned caseload of students with career advising, academic plan development, registration assistance, and academic strategy development aimed at student success, persistence, retention, progression and completion. Maintains 25-30 hours of advising availability per week; participates in on-going training provided by Academic and Career Advising; facilitates early intervention; regularly uses advising technologies; and collaborates with MTC and the University of South Carolina leadership to facilitate Gamecock Gateway student's academic completion.

This position is located on the Beltline Campus int he Academic and Career Advising department.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

Bachelor's degree plus two (2) years of relevant program experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree plus four (4) years of experience in student services program/academic advising or an achieved master's degree plus one (1) year of experience in student services program/academic advising. Direct academic experience in a community/technical college setting including experience managing a caseload, leading student interventions, and leveraging technologies to document academic advisement and student support is preferred.
