Job DescriptionSUMMARY:The Purchasing Manager's primary focus is negotiating with contractors and vendors for the procurement of construction services and equipment including process components and maintenance supplies for the SNF Holding Company's Riceboro, GA and Plaquemine, LA major manufacturing sites as well as seven other US manufacturing facilities. This includes the purchase of equipment and construction services for capital expansions.RESPONSIBILITIES:Participate in the development of specifications for equipment and equipment systems.Analyze market and logistical delivery systems to assess the present and future availability of equipment.Locate vendors of equipment, equipment systems, or supplies and establish relationships with vendors to determine availability and negotiate competitive terms of sales and pricing including logistics of delivery.Work closely with Corporate Purchasing and Legal to develop and implement purchasing and contract management instructions, policies, and procedures.Maintain records of goods, ordered, and received.Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for equipment and maintenance supplies.Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy contract agreement. Resolve differences.Review, evaluate, and approve specifications for issuing and awarding bids.Direct and coordinate activities of personnel engaged in purchasing equipment, machinery, and maintenance supplies. Job RequirementsUndergraduate degree required.
