Octo Consulting Group Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) Administrator in Reston, Virginia


As an Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) Administrator with Octo, you will join an Agile program responsible for the configuration, maintenance, security, and operational support of existing OBIEE tools. You are cross-functional with a passion for high-quality work and can configure, upgrade, and test reports and OBIEE upgrades. You are agile and retrospective, and not afraid to identify what we are doing wrong so we can fix it, and what we are doing right so we can improve on it.

Program Mission…

This program will support the agency’s Information Technology mission to provide development and operational support of new and existing legacy mission-enabling applications.


  • Administer, configure, upgrade, and test OBIEE.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve simple to complex issues related to OBIEE.

  • Document modified application design, code, logic, packages, modules or triggers and update training material.

  • Follow the team’s established Agile processes, which include both short- and long-term planning, cross functional support, and demonstrating working software.


  • Minimum 3 years of experience in business intelligence administering and configuring OBIEE and developing reports.

  • Working experience performing OBIEE upgrades.

  • Understanding of data warehousing concepts and quality standards.

  • Strong writing and communication skills.

  • Ability to connect technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Able to clearly communicate and provide positive recommendation of improvements to existing software applications.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience supporting TSA and other DHS Agencies

  • Familiarity with AWS, MS Azure, or other cloud platforms

  • Experience with software tools like JIRA, Bitbucket, and Git.

  • Experience working in Scrum/Agile environment

Years of Experience: 3+ Years of relevant experience

Education: Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience

Location: DC Metro Area

Clearance: U.S. Citizenship is required with ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust
