Coalfire Federal Divisional Chief Financial Officer in Reston, Virginia

The Coalfire Federal CFO will be a critical part of the senior leadership of the Coalfire Federal division reporting to the President of Coalfire Federal and will be responsible for all finance and accounting functions as well as other administrative management responsibilities. Primary responsibilities include financial planning and analysis, business reporting, and all accounting functions. Additionally, the Coalfire Federal CFO will work closely with operations teams to drive process and systems improvements and develop, maintain, and administer policies and procedures.

  • Lead and execute all phases of the Financial Planning and Analysis functions of the company including:

  • Annual Operating Budget

  • Forecasting

  • Operational and Strategic Analysis

  • Long-term Strategic Planning

  • Scenario models for Forecasts and Budgets

  • M&A models

  • Debt calculations

  • Long term financial projections

  • Perform cash projections to effectively manage cash balances

  • Perform analytical review of all financial statements including balance sheet flux analysis, income statement actuals vs plan, and cash flow actuals vs projections

  • Manage and execute all essential accounting functions including:

  • General Ledger

  • Accounts Payable

  • Accounts Receivable

  • Payroll

  • Treasury and Cash Management

  • Tax

  • Audit

  • Primary day to day contact for financial statement audit

  • Implement, document and maintain adequate and effective internal controls

  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations

  • Manage and execute all internal and Board reporting

  • Assist, lead and manage key finance and accounting projects and initiatives to drive process improvement and deliver deeper insights on critical business decisions

  • Influence and guide finance professionals in the finance and accounting teams as well as help professionals across the organization better understand finance processes and implications of financial decisions.

  • Any other responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time.

    Experience:

  • 8+ years in the accounting and finance sector.

  • 3+ years in a position equivalent to a divisional CFO or higher responsibilities, preferably for a consulting or professional services firm

  • “Big Four” or national accounting firm audit experience is preferred but not required

  • Strong experience in both the private and public accounting sectors is preferred but not required

Required Education/Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

  • CPA

  • Confidential, understands the ethical standards of the accounting and finance role

  • Conscientious about timeliness of assignments and quality of work product

  • Possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including ability to articulate recommendations in a concise and timely manner

  • Able to handle multiple tasks and maintain control and order over same

  • Good GAAP and financial reporting technical skills

  • Exceptional work ethic

CMA certification a plus
