FieldCore Site QA/QC Manager in Remote, Iraq

Role Summary/Purpose

The QC / QA Site Manager (Quality Control / Quality Assurance) provides assurance that QA/QC activities are executed and that all Quality Requirements are met ensuring that the necessary systems, plans, and procedures are in place for both contractor and the site team.

Essential Function

  • Be party to the preparation of the Site Quality Manual and Quality Plan. Take ownership of these documents on site.

  • Plan and coordinate all MCS Fabrication discipline inspection activities.

  • Ensure that the Contractor and its Subcontractors have acceptable and approved quality systems, plans and procedures to carry out the scope of work.

  • Continuously monitor the Contractor’s and its Subcontractors’ performance to the approved quality system by conducting systems and procedural audits.

  • Become Familiar with and support the Outage, Operation, Maintenance site execution Plan

  • Recommend changes to existing procedures and / or assist in preparation of new procedures and work instructions.

  • Ensure Health, Safety and Protection of the Environment is understood by Inspection Personnel for the success of the project.

  • Establish and maintain a good working relationship with the Contractor’s personnel and to provide positive input to methods and solutions to improve.

  • Report daily to the Site Manager on QA/QC matters and keep the Site Manager informed of any problems or potential problems.

  • Liaise with onsite Project Engineer to ensure that project quality policies are followed during the Outage, Operation and Maintenance.

  • Provide feedback and advice to site team members as necessary to identify non-compliance /conformance, and assist in addressing quality issues with the Contractor.

  • Advise and assist the Site Manager in preparation and implementation of quality audits of the Contractor and its Subcontractors.

  • Provide input to regular meetings both internally and with the Contractor.

  • Provide input to weekly and monthly reports to Project Management.

  • Liaise with Contractor regarding all matters pertaining to Quality and records.

  • Local management of on-site QA Support ensuring Initiation, communication and management of clear system of punch list control.

  • Act as the site focal point for and manage the Verification Authority interface and deliverables plan.

  • Ensure that all Quality documentation deliverables and verification records are achieved and correct.

  • Ensure documentation is delivered per MDR

  • With Project/Site Management, develop an Audit schedule and participate in audits of Contractor and Sub-Contractors.

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Technical Discipline AND 3 years of experience, OR

  • Associate’s Degree / Diploma from Trade, Vocational, Military Program AND 5 years of experience OR

  • High School / GED AND 7 years of demonstrated progressive, responsible experience in Quality Assurance role in Power Generation, Oil & Gas, Manufacturing, or Industrial environment

Desired Characteristics

  • Solid knowledge of the Power Generation, Oil & Gas, and/or Energy-related Businesses

  • Good working knowledge of Machining, Fabrication, Welding, and Materials Prep

  • Excellent understanding of Materials, Mechanical Dimensional Checks / Standard Measurement (GDT) practices

  • Familiar and experienced with various industry standards, codes, tests, and inspection techniques

  • Key understanding of company project management principles.

  • Good communication, inter-personal and negotiation skills.

  • Proven capability of working in a matrix environment.

  • Willing to work at a detail level.

  • Team Player

  • Leadership - Ability to Mentor QA/QC Technicians / NDT Techs / Operational & Maintenance Techs, etc.

  • Self-motivated and energetic individual, able to work on own initiative
