To help us reach our goals we are looking to hire a Process Engineer to join our Bioprocess Development Team. As part of this Dynamic team you will be responsible for the design and execution of fermentation and recovery experiments to enable the development and scale up of robust manufacturing processes for enzyme production.

In this role you will be responsible for:
Design and execution of fermentation experiments including bioreactor setup, feed control and monitoring fermentations using online and offline analytic tools.
Performing protein recovery experiments using unit operations such as homogenization, centrifugation, depth filtration, microfiltration, and ultrafiltration.
Documenting and reporting experimental results to the Project team in a clear and concise manner. Participating in tech-transfer activities to Codexis? internal manufacturing group and CMOs.
Maintaining a clean, organized and tidy lab environment. Maintaining lab notebooks as well as writing reports and SOPs.
To be successful in this role, your background and experience should include:
Bachelor?s degree in Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or related discipline with a minimum of 2 years? experience in development of microbial fermentation processes.
Excellent interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills
Ability to keep organized records and documentation, and to write reports and SOPs.
Ability to prioritize responsibilities, multi-task and remain flexible with changing needs.
Must be motivated and able to work under tight deadlines.
Experience with recovery unit operations such as homogenization, centrifugation, depth filtration, microfiltration, and ultrafiltration is a plus.
Experience with DOE and statistical analysis is desired.
