Northrop Grumman Principal Strategic Planner in Redondo Beach, California
Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Strategic Decision Analyst 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in the Strategic Alignment team, which is part of the sector's Strategy & Business Development organization. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, CA or Falls Church, VA.
As a Strategic Decision Analyst, you will directly support the Manager of Strategic Decision Analysis (SDA) and be responsible for developing and executing models and analyses for the sector's Strategic Alignment organization that result in business outcomes that are aligned with NGAS' strategic objectives.
This position will be responsible for projects critical to the company's growth; will work independently to plan and lead activities such as Business Case Analyses, portfolio risk analysis, mission cost effectiveness, customer buying power, and bid analysis supported by applying robust analytical approaches. This position will assist in advising lower level analysts and managers in innovative modeling/analysis approaches and may also set standards as part of a community of practice across the corporation. Analyses will include business trend analysis, rate predictions, and optimization of life cycle costing across multiple systems. The Analyst will support and present to executives within the company representing the SDA organization.
Key Responsibilities :
Apply strategic business intelligence to develop robust analytical tools that analyze company's current and projected industry position, through probabilistic and stochastic modeling, to positively affect Strategic Initiatives and influence planning decisions.
Drive requirements for new database developments, dashboards, and functional models.
Develop cost-effectiveness analyses and trade studies to support strategic mission needs across a multi-domain landscape.
Provide recommendations to leadership on investment strategies across the sector portfolio based on customer and industry analyses.
Develop, evaluate, and implement model-based analytics of competitor's likely bid strategies based upon current business and competitive market dynamics.
Understand various estimating approaches to include analogous and parametric modeling.
Work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to collect requirements, and create tools and solutions for the enterprise
5 years of experience in Data, Business Case, Financial and/or Business Strategic Analysis OR 3 years with a Master's Degree
1 year experience in Business Development or Competitive Analysis
The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance
MS in Engineering and/or STEM related discipline and/or MBA;
Experience in any combination of: cost modeling; cost-effectiveness; data analytics; funding analysis; market assessment; international customers
Proven experience in strong problem solving skills, data analytics, and parametric analysis.
Ability to communicate recommendations and analysis to senior level executives.
Knowledge of platforms and domains within aerospace and defense industry.
Knowledge of NGAS portfolio, business models, structure and programs
Active DoD Top Secret Security Clearance
