Microsoft Corporation Sr. Product Marketing Manager in Redmond, Washington

Windows 10 is now running on over 1 Billion monthly active devices and we are looking for how we shape that future and what devices will come next! The mission of the Windows 10 Home Priorities & Devices team within the Windows Marketing Group is to set the business priorities, plan how we will invest, and ensure we have the right devices, with the right features, at the right price, and with ecosystem support to grow revenue, gain share, and build new growth opportunities.

In this role you will own the long range device portfolio advocacy, do research to determine what devices will grow our business, partner with retailers / OEMs / ISVs to get these devices built and on shelves at the right time to impact our business. You will partner closely with our engineering team and partner teams to ensure alignment across the org as well as deliver to our GTM team what devices to expect and where to place investments.

A strong interest in the Windows device business is necessary and you should be ready to objectively evaluate a wide portfolio of products with a data-driven approach. The ideal candidate will be able to respectfully support, or challenge established preconceptions with thoughtfully researched proposals to mobilize teams toward our strategic goals for Windows devices.

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to identify market opportunities and lead long range planning with key ecosystem partners to influence product roadmap

  • Identify key scenarios/features and enhancements that excite consumers, reduce PC refresh rate and help bring the PC market back to growth

  • Determine the Long Lead Modern Definition (18+ months out); The long lead definition is the gateway to majority of Microsoft’s investments

  • Determine (through research and analysis) key asks and device archetypes for OEM’s to build; Prepare presentations with data supporting those asks

  • Partner with OEM teams, Channel Sales, Field, Deals and Finance teams to ensure effective allocation of Windows investments towards the right devices

  • Partner with other product marketing teams to create and tell integrated Windows story

  • Partner with research SMEs to ensure the right products, concepts are features are being tested

  • Partner with GTM and outbound marketing teams for prioritization, asset and story creation of new and exciting products/features and technologies


  • 7+ years’ professional experience in Product Management, portfolio management, retail buyer, Marketing or equivalent experience

  • Demonstrated track record of thinking out of the box and successfully applying technology towards solving a product want or need

  • Strong presentation skills and ability to communicate ideas articulately, in an executive setting

  • Proven ability to quickly move from opportunity & concept, to well documented, aligned & integrated business & marketing plan

  • Experience working in PC space; OEM, Silicon or Retail (strongly preferred but not required)

  • Comfortable working in a fast paced and ambiguous environment. Ability to take charge and lead.

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) is preferred. MBA or equivalent experience a plus
