Stryker Senior Environmental Health & Safety Engineer in Redmond, Washington

Stryker is seeking to hire a Senior Environmental Health and Safety Engineer in Redmond, Washington .


  • You will sustain, implement and aide in building the environmental health & safety program for Stryker’s medical device manufacturing of emergency response lifesaving products.

  • You will support Stryker's Environmental Health & Safety Program Implementation focusing on the Zero Harm Culture.

  • You will promoting a safe working environment by identifying and eliminating hazards, managing risks, and improving the overall quality of life for our employees.

  • You will evaluate, implement and monitor Stryker’s environmental safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations.

  • You will maintain safety equipment inventory, perform periodic safety inspections, monitors hazardous waste removal vendors, and may assist in consolidating hazardous wastes (chemical, radioactive, and/or medical)

  • You will monitor environmental compliance and maintain liaison with appropriate regulatory agencies.

  • You will recommend corrective action where environmental health and safety hazards exist.

  • You will interact with others in the administration of the worker’s compensation program and the implementation of workplace ergonomics and program solutions.

  • You will be responsible for following areas: hazardous materials, waste manifesting, industrial safety, ergonomics, workplace injuries and product environmental compliance.

  • You will be responsible for creating and delivering online and in-person EH&S training material.


  • Bachelor’s degree - required

  • 2+ years related work experience - required

  • 2+ years environmental health & safety program management experience - preferred


  • Experience with workers injury response and reporting requirements- required

  • Proven written and verbal communications skills; ability to write clear and concise reports and interact with team members of various levels of the organization and cultures globally- required

  • Environmental Health & Safety work experience in a regulated industry including medical device manufacturing, automotive, aerospace and pharma- preferred

  • Familiarity with coordinating and executing plans to maintain an ISO-certified quality system- preferred

  • Proficient in programs covering areas such as regulatory compliance, risk management, internal auditing and training for employees- preferred

  • AED/CPR and First Aid certified- preferred

  • Experienced managing EH&S regulatory compliance, ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, and OSAS 18001 Safety Management System – preferred

  • Knowledge of labor & industries, WISHA, OSHA, Dept of Ecology, and EPA- preferred
