The Data Strategy & Governance Product Director – Enterprise Data Strategy Provider Data Domain is a business-facing role that requires a candidate with strong hands-on data strategy & management background who understands data, how to ingest data, proper use/consumption, data quality, and governance. In this highly visible role you will partner with the Provider Domain Owner to understand business priorities and drive execution of business initiatives in support of the domain. Additionally you will actively participate in the Provider Data Domain governance and strategy framework.
The Enterprise Data Strategy team within Global Data & Analytics (GD&A) is built to help CIGNA drive that improvement in the accessibility and quality of our data assets and tools, and allow us to deliver data solutions faster than we do today. Our ultimate goal is to ensure Cigna’s ability to grow is unconstrained by any limitations of our data. The CIGNA Enterprise Data Strategy team is comprised of business and technical teams spanning Customer, Provider, Buyer and Intermediary Data Domains as well as foundational enterprise data teams.
Sets the vision and strategic direction of the work for the group. Works with Enterprise Data Strategy Data Office team to define and establish provider data catalog, data policy library, data quality program, metadata and reference repository.
Partners with Enterprise Data Strategy (EDS) Data Domain Owner to decompose Portfolio (Agile) Epic work requirements and priorities into Program Epics. Maintains the Program Backlog and decomposes Portfolio Epics into Program Epics and Features. Full accountability for execution of Program Epics and associated products / deliverables.
Makes and executes key decisions on strategy and direction; creates Vision and Roadmap.
In collaboration with stakeholders, ensures teams have necessary budgets, resources, approvals, and other support.
Communicates regularly with key Stakeholders to collect and share feedback.
Ensures that business owners are engaged and supportive of direction. Builds and maintains relationships with stakeholders to stay abreast of business and technical team needs.
Ensures that end users and other Stakeholders find the work valuable.
Resolves issues escalated by teams and continually optimizes teams and processes.
Responsible for the ultimate success of the portfolio and delivering the benefits back into the business.
The incumbent guides the company on strategic decisions and provides advice that has a significant impact on strategic planning.
Possesses industry-wide authority and represents the organization externally.
Widely recognized expert and thought leader by both internal and external community and is responsible for the technical leadership of a major department/multiple departments across a function.
Execute business and foundational initiatives on the Customer domain roadmap in partnership with IT and Architecture.
Supports Customer Domain Owner in the establishment of Customer master data management, data governance and data quality frameworks and processes.
Actively participates in the EDS Product Manager Community of Practice.
12+ years of experience with data management, data governance and data quality experience required
10+ years’ experience in data management organization
5+ years’ experience working with Healthcare Customer Solutions highly desired
Previous people team leadership/people management experience required
Experience scoping complex projects/programs and driving through to completion
Ability to influence decisions related to the Program across and within teams
Experience with project management methodologies; Agile preferred
SAFe Agile Certification preferred
Strong problem-solving skills, critical-thinking skills, strong business acumen and the proven ability to effectively articulate business objectives required
Strong facilitation/presentation skills and experience presenting to senior leadership
Strong business insights/acumen, balances stakeholders, communicates effectively and directs work
