The Clinical Informatics Specialist is a primary support contact and works with the other members of the EHR team in coordinating the implementation efforts with clinical end users/operations stake holders. Understands WakeMed's Epic build and recognizes opportunities for process redesign to assist the organization maximize the benefits of the EHR. The Clinical Informatics Specialist is responsible for coordinating and communicating with care team members from all areas of the hospital related to assigned application. Utilizes clinical background and Epic experience to benefit the build and support of the EHR application assigned. Ensures consistent use of clinical information technology and the adoption of care team workflow changes enabled by information technologies such as Epic. Provides facilitation and consultation services to assigned clinical users/departments. Participates in departmental initiatives and identifies ways that information technology will improve the care team workflow. The Clinical Informatics Specialist translates needed changes into a requirements document for the Application Analyst to modify the system and assists with testing and implementation of changes. May assist with application build changes.
3 Years Clinical - Related Area Or 3 Years Information Technology - Technical - Healthcare And Electronic Medical Records Required
Bachelor's Degree Nursing Or Bachelor's Degree Related Field Or Education Required - And Master's Degree Medical Informatics Preferred
Certified/Licensed/Registered in Field of Practice And EPIC Certification in Area of Responsibility Required - Within 6 Months of Hire
