Area Sales Team Manager- Crop Protection- Mid-Atlantic
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As an Area Business Manager, you will lead and direct a team of field sales representatives to meet sales and expense expectations i. You will be successful in this role through clear direction, effective coaching, prioritization of resources and targeted development within your North & South Carolina Geography.
The primary responsibilities of this role, Area Business Manager, are to:
Develop area plan to optimize sales and growth in alignment withmarketing strategy;
Lead, coach and mentor sales representatives to meet or exceed sales goals;
Actively engage in the development of direct reports;
Effectively manage expenses, discretionary dollars and program payments per Bayer Crop Science policy;
Ensure achievement of program execution and program fulfillment, including national/regional marketing initiatives;
Develop strong, long-term relationships with top key accounts in thedefined team geography while collaborating with internal stakeholders;
Meet all reporting requirements on forecasting; and provide marketplace intelligence & customer insights;
Manage area claims per Bayer Crop Science policy and process through effective problem solving, execution, administration and resource management;
Serve as an integral part of the regional business leadership team;
Travel approximately 60%;

Bachelor’s degree in a related field, plus prior sales experience (more than eight years) in the agriculture industry;
Experience in Marketing;
Thorough understanding of the various aspects and problems of theagricultural chemical industry and related products;
Demonstrated knowledge of practices in seed, seed treatment, pesticide, herbicide and fungicide usage;
Prior sales management or a history of clear leadership;
Excellent organizational, follow up and analytical skills arenecessary, as this role will transfer knowledge of market trends and product opportunities into actionable plans among the district, but also to product management teams in headquarters;
Proven ability to multi-task in a rapid-paced and matrixed environment;
Extensive interpersonal, communication skills (oral and written) andmanagement skills are critical to prepare and present business and marketing plans, coach the sales force, and interact with all levels of management in both field sales, the division, and outside businesses;
Strong Business Acumen, planning, and critical thinking skills;
Advanced computer and presentation skills (proficiencies in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Ability to pass driving record background check (i.e. moving violations, accidents, License suspension, etc.);
Federal regulations from the Department of Transportation cover this position and mandate the passing of certain pre-employment requirements, such as a background check, drug test and physical.
