Individual provides support to Procurement functions, including the reporting of current and forecasted market intelligence, management of savings reporting, program compliance, process mapping and other Procurement initiatives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • *Conduct detailed financial and operational analyses of Airgas activities to support Hardgoods Supply Chain and Procurement operations. *

  • Responsible for Transactional Activity Support, Including but not limited to:

    o Billing resolution (GL code, BOL correction, Plant/Branch location, etc.)

    o Resolving daily Freight & Logistics operational issues related to transportation management (claims, user training, product classification)

    o Lowering AP/AR aging reports

    o Update carrier cost database within Transportation Management System (TMS)

    o *Engage Divisions and Business Units as necessary *

  • Perform analysis of financial and operating information as requested including:

    o *Spend analysis *

    o Data mining from ERP, P-Card, Freight & Logistics and other systems

    o Total cost of ownership analysis

    o Trend analysis or Root Cause analysis

  • Responsible for cost savings reporting or process improvement tracking

    o Provide savings updates to Hardgoods Product Managers, Procurement, Business Units, & Operations Control

    o Work with Hardgoods Product Managers, Procurement and operations to collect and report savings

    o Map existing processes and provide recommended improvements to standard operating procedures

    o Gain expertise in Air Liquide Blue Book procedures and terminology

    o Manage and facilitate savings process

    o *Create and manage an annual savings reporting calendar *

  • Provide additional and ad hoc support as needed, including:

    o *Market reporting and forecasting *

    o Supplier market conditions and analysis as directed by leadership

    o Supplier and Commodity Profiles

    o Investigate and study supplier cost structures

    o Prepares presentation documents and assists in presenting to all levels of management

    o Distribution Center analytics and processes

  • Responsible for supporting Freight & Logistics management processes, Including but not limited to:

    o Implementation and management of comprehensive Claims Management program across Airgas

    o Implementing an accurate reporting mechanism for each Airgas region to identify compliance with Low Cost Carrier options

    o Support Hardgoods Product Managers by managing the Unbundle Free Freight program

  • Maintain strong lines of communication with Procurement, Distribution Centers, business units, key customer groups, Corporate Operations Control and other relevant departments

  • Participate in special projects as identified by manager (including but not limited to negotiating, sourcing, contracting, cost modeling, project management)

  • Support Product Management Team Activities:

    o Creation of forecasts for Airgas’ robust Rebate Program in place with many of our top welding and safety product suppliers.

    o Analyze and uncover opportunities to maximize rebate payouts with our Suppliers, who participate in the Rebate Program.

    o Responsible for the creation and maintenance of regular reports utilized by our Product Management Team during their day-to-day activities with our key Suppliers including but not limited to Vendor Scorecards; Share Data Reports; etc.

    o Leverage our robust ERP system to create POS (Point of Sale) Reports, as required by contract, for our External customers.

    o Enhance the Power BI Hardgoods Reports that exist today with the goal of providing actionable insights Product Managers can use to maximize the revenue and profitability of their product categories.

    o Share insights and gain alignment with our Radnor Products Team with the goal of profitably growing our Radnor Branded Private Label offering.

    o Engage in the analytics needed to pursue and document cost savings activities related to our Tier 1 & Tier 2 Suppliers.

    o *Aid in the ongoing compliance issues related to Proposition 65. This would involve working internally with our key stakeholders (e.g. SAFECOR; Product Management;; MAR COMM Team; etc.) and externally with our Suppliers to maintain compliance with Prop 65 requirements. *

    o *Support, as needed, with trade compliance and tariffs. *

  • Support Distribution Center Activities:

    o Maintain and manage the Monthly Bonus Summary reports for the DC Management Team.

    o Maintain and manage the Daily, Weekly and Monthly Flash Reports.

    o Assist in creating and maintaining budgets and summary reports.

    o Maintain and manage various reports involving inventories, productivity rates, stock velocities and volumes within and among the DCs.

    o Assist in creating and reporting vendor discrepancy reports for DC and Product Management on an ongoing basis.

    o Perform Ad Hoc reporting as necessary for DC Management.

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree economics, finance, engineering or any business related field

Required Length & Type of Experience:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in analyst roles supporting complex data and process analysis

  • Experience within the fields of Procurement or Supply Chain/Logistics preferred

*Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: *

  • Excellent qualitative and quantitative analytical skills with ability to collect and correlate information and data

  • Advanced MS Excel, Google Sheets, Power BI and Access skills are required

  • Understands underlying mechanisms of customer/supplier relationships

  • *Solid written and verbal communication skills *

  • Detail oriented, self-motivated with ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize work and meet deadlines

  • Possesses ability to synthesize information quickly and summarize conclusions and recommendations
