The Role

As the Sr. Consultant, Retirement Income Product Development, you will provide subject matter expertise and direction on complex projects/initiatives as it relates to product development and management for retirement income through annuities within DC retirement plans. You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders across the business line and company to ensure the success of product development and enhancement initiatives. Our existing partnerships for retirement income services involve multiple firms active in the space and you will have ownership over those relationships and strategic direction. By bringing together guaranteed lifetime income solutions (like GLWB, DIA, QLAC, SPIA, etc.) with optimal defined contribution plan design, you will have ownership and be actively engaged on a key segment of the company's DC record keeping business.

Responsibilities

  • Provides subject matter expertise on complex assignments and leads projects in support of in-plan product development and implementation of new and changes to existing products for the retirement business.

  • Partners with senior leaders and stakeholders to lead the in-plan product development process & facilitate the implementation/integration of product initiatives while ensuring alignment with the business unit strategy.

  • Identifies different or diverse markets that enhance market reach and partners with internal/external stakeholders to develop and implement in-plan products.

  • Reviews industry processes, customer needs, and the competitive landscape; champions innovative process changes that facilitate an effective in-plan product development process.

  • Provides ongoing training to Retirement Consultants, Relationship Managers and other internal stakeholders on new in-plan products and changes to existing products.

  • Proactively anticipates, prepares for, and acts on future business-related opportunities

  • Provides technical input to and review of marketing materials, contract and prospectus language

  • Evaluates complex trends in data or information

  • Recognizes opportunities or potential problems, before they become obvious, by seeking input from a range of sources, including insights beyond own area of responsibility.

  • Participates in industry and/or trade organizations to obtain competitor information, industry trends and/or best practices

  • Builds, enhances, and maintains relationships with internal partners, plan sponsors and industry contacts

  • Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends, assesses the impact, and collaborates with senior management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions

  • Directs and enhances organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives

  • Identifies and directs the implementation of process improvements that significantly improve quality across the team, department and/or business unit

  • Provides subject matter expertise to team members and applicable internal/external stakeholders on complex assignments/projects

  • Provides direction on complex assignments, projects, and/or initiatives to build and enhance the capability of assigned area(s)

Education

  • 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's) - Minimum Required

Certifications

  • FINRA S6 within 90 days

Experience

  • 5+ Years experience in retirement plan or annuity product experience aligns to the responsibilities of this role
