Avantor, Inc. Senior Internal Auditor in Radnor, Pennsylvania

Job SummaryThe Senior Auditor is responsible for leading internal and SOX audits. This role requires sound project management to ensure audits are completed timely and accurately and includes responsibility for audit planning, fieldwork, wrap-up, reporting and issues follow up. The Senior Auditor will also be a key driver in developing and monitoring the testing execution plan and strategy for audits. This role may assist Internal Audit management on audits of higher risk, complexity and scope, as requested, which includes handling complex or difficult areas.

MAJOR JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (List in order of importance)

  • Lead planning activities including developing strategic, risk-based approaches to perform impactful audits and reviews of internal control and operational processes for effectiveness.

  • Prepares clear, concise and well-written, high quality audit reports for distribution to key stakeholders.

  • Makes oral and written recommendations to management and presents agreed-upon actions to improve controls and operational efficiency.

  • Leverage and incorporate data analytics into audits to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the execution and evaluation of internal controls.

  • Ensure that the audit is conducted in a manner consistent with applicable departmental and Company policies as well as IIA Standards.

  • Track and report on audit status and milestones to Internal Audit management on a regular and ad hoc basis.

  • Reviews staff workpapers and provides timely feedback and coaching.

  • Shares “best practices” identified at other locations and throughout work experience.

  • Provides suggestions for revising audit programs and approaches based upon experiences and recommendations for improvement/enhance efficiency.

  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS (Education/Training, Experience and Certifications)

  • B.S. in Accounting or Finance; MBA a plus; GPA: Minimum 3.2/4.0 scale.

  • Candidates should possess 4+ years of experience, which should include 2-4 years of audit experience with either Public Accounting (Big “4” preferred) or Internal Audit with a large organization.

  • Prior experience with annual audit planning is strongly preferred.

  • CPA/CIA certification is strongly preferred.

  • Industry experience is a plus.

  • Fluency in foreign languages is a plus.

ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL EFFORT (Under Typical Positions)

  • Typically works in an office environment with adequate lighting and ventilation and a normal range of temperature and noise level.

  • Travel approximately 25-30% of the time to global locations

  • Work assignments are diversified. Examples of past precedent are used to resolve work problems. New alternatives may be developed to resolve problems.

  • A frequent volume of work and deadlines impose strain on a routine basis.

  • Minimal physical effort is required. Work is mostly sedentary but does require walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting or carrying objects that typically weigh less than 10 lbs.
