National Accounts Manager - Manufacturing and Metal Fab Markets

Job Summary:
Responsible for acquiring new customers and growing existing customers by presenting our robust value proposition to prospects and selling Airgas products and services to businesses on a multi-regional or national level. Work through the Airgas Division, Regional Company and Business Unit structures to execute the delivery of the Airgas value proposition to key customers, and achieve the implementation revenue targets of the signing award.
*ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. *
Contract with and profitably grow new and existing assigned customers in MMF markets by driving maximum consumption of Airgas products and services, effectively implementing pricing actions and promoting an optimal cost to serve position across client operations
*Develop and grow the Airgas corporate relationship and brand with the largest and most strategic clients through the effective use of Executive sponsorship, strong contract negotiation skills and by leading regional customer-facing teams in the articulation and delivery of the segment value proposition *
Collaborate closely with the National Advanced Fabrication team to identify areas of customer value creation and shift focus from product price to process savings
Document and gain customer agreement over cost savings and value creation based on spend optimization, productivity gains and identified process improvements
Promote and exemplify Sales Force Effectiveness behaviors thereby increasing the effective sales band-with at Airgas
Provide dotted line mentoring and leadership to regional and local sales teams
Develop and maintain key relationships with counterparts in the Airgas regional strategic accounts organization

Executive sales professional, effective and capable in situations ranging from the corporate office to the production floor
Track record of demonstrated performance and achievement
Strong influencing and teamwork skills
- Experience dealing with customers’ contract language and exceptional ability to negotiate and close significant contracts incorporating standard Airgas language*
Experience with and understanding of Airgas business: branch and basic operations, sales, asset/capital management; product lines and sales channels
Knowledgeable in customer’s business and markets and able to adapt Airgas value proposition to unique customer circumstances
Promotes collaboration, coordination, and teamwork across organizational boundaries
*Ability to manage through organizational tension, sustains results and relationships and delegates tasks effectively *

*EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: *
Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
7-9 years of professional sales experience with demonstrated superior performance and proficiency with the full breadth of Airgas
