VMware Senior Software Engineer - Windows Endpoint in Pune, India

Software Engineers specifically dedicated to the Voice of the Customer (VoC) work as part of an agile team to quickly diagnose and resolve issues impacting our customers. Within this fast-paced, collaborative organization, you'll work to ensure customer success and satisfaction by contributing to products that protect customers' dearest assets.

Carbon Black is hiring a senior software engineer with kernel-level programming knowledge and strong troubleshooting and analytical skills to incorporate the Voice of the Customer into our award-winning products. You will work as part of an agile team to quickly diagnose and resolve issues impacting our customers.

What You’ll Do

As a VoC Windows Endpoint Engineer, you will solve complex problems related to the Carbon Black Cloud Windows sensor. You will review forensic data including product & system logs, debug large bodies of code, report defects and design workarounds to ensure our customer’s continued success. You’ll work closely with Product Management, Professional Services, and Customer Support teams, to shorten time-to-resolution of customer reported product issues.

  • Troubleshootandperform a root cause analysis of customer reported product issues(including:examining product logs,system logs,memorydumps(both user and kernel)and other system debug information)

  • Fix product defects

  • Createcustomtools & scriptsto speedMTTR

  • Work with feature teams on product enhancements related to supportability

  • Communicateclearly and effectivelywith internal stakeholdersas well ascustomers to drive resolution of technical issues

  • Be proactive, self-motivated and attentive to detailwhen solvinghighly complex level of escalated problems

  • Work well under pressure in a highly kinetic environment

What You’ll Bring

  • 7+ years of experience in Software Development

  • Solid experience developing or supporting an enterprise class application,addressing product issues and driving corrective actions

  • Extensiveknowledge in C/C++  andrelated software development tools

  • Solidknowledge ofcrash dump analysis (windbg)

  • Experience with kernel level programming on Windows

  • Experience with tools likeSysinternals, Windows Performance Toolkit, and Wireshark

  • Experience with codemanagement and bug tracking tools

  • BSCS degree or equivalent

Preferred Experience:

  • Familiarity with reverse engineering, threat detection, performance, and quality

  • Knowledgeof security software

  • Practical experience with scripting languages like Python andPowerShell

  • Linux and Mac development experience a plus.
