Facebook Program Manager - Edge and Network in Prineville, Oregon

This is a Program Manager opportunity within the Infrastructure Services and Operational Support Network team. This role supports the growth, management, and 24x7 upkeep of Facebook's production network. As a Program Manager on the Infrastructure Services and Operational Support Network team, you will be responsible for delivering mission-enabling program management support. You will work directly with network engineering, facility operations, construction teams, and other key stakeholders to execute critical programs and projects in the data center. You will enable others to have impact by solving problems associated with building Facebook infrastructure and operating efficiently at scale. This position will be located in Prineville, OR with some domestic and international travel required.

Required Skills:

  1. Plan, coordinate and drive execution of all network programs and projects within your data center region

  2. Manage highly cross-functional network programs and projects in a matrix organization which include areas like facility power, rack layout and cable management, physical equipment installation, network equipment configuration, testing and handoff for production traffic

  3. Build working relationships across the business and collaborate with cross-functional teams on strategic initiatives as well as day-to-day operations

  4. Employ a data-driven approach to planning and problem solving. Convey status of programs and projects by using quantitative metrics that clearly communicate business impact

  5. Anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, and balance business needs vs. technical constraints

  6. Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, including executives

  7. Identify and communicate all risks and changes to the program and regularly update stakeholders on issue resolution

  8. Continuously identify opportunities to refine processes and transform the way we do business in order to scale the business in the most efficient manner possible

  9. Proactively contribute to documentation, automation and processes improvement

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in an engineering, quantitative, or a related discipline

  2. 8+ years experience managing complex programs and projects within technical environments, such as network infrastructure and data center operations

  3. Cross-functional leadership skills with experience driving results across multiple teams

  4. Experience influencing stakeholders and partner teams. Experience collaborating with different individuals across the organization and within other geographies

  5. Analytical, problem-solving, negotiation and organizational leadership experience

  6. Experience managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

  7. Experience evaluating, defining and improving end-to-end processes

  8. Communication experience across technical and non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. PMP or other project management certification

  2. Associate level network certifications (CCNA or JNCIA) or higher

  3. Background in network engineering, software engineering or a related field

  4. Knowledge of data center design and operational best practices

  5. Experience working in a multi-vendor network environment
