Location/Division Specific Information

The Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry Division ( CMD ) serves customers in a range of markets and applications from environmental and food safety analysis to forensic science and toxicology.

Location: US East Coast remote; Korea; Germany

How will you make an impact?

The Senior Manager, Product Marketing will support the HPLC business unit and global Commercial Organization to facilitate and execute Marketing actions and initiatives aimed to drive the growth of Thermo Scientific HPLC market share. The role demands for proactive leadership and management in developing programs and driving HPLC initiatives to grow revenue. Intense engagement and with the Sales and Marketing teams will be the key to success in this role. The Senior Manager, Product Marketing will have responsibility over the definition, execution and tracking of the required plans to ensure business growth and sustainability in response to the market’s requirements.

What will you do?

Drive Business Unit Initiatives

  • Leads projects and programs for the HPLC business which will drive growth and help achieve AOP for booking and revenue

  • Act as the point of contact for Commercial and Regional Marketing teams

  • Implement and manage Sales feedback process to the Business Unit on specific competition information, strategies and tactics and manage accomplishment of required follow-up action items.

  • Working with local Sales and Marketing teams, develop regional-based strategies and tactical plans

  • Initiate, develop and drive the product promotion plan

  • Drive seed unit program by managing the approval process, tracking and monitoring, as well as seed unit inventory.

  • Manage order allocation and prioritization process

  • Implement tracking of the activities to determine ROI and ensure consistency and payoff.

Strategic Planning

  • Contribute to strategic planning and the GTM plan for the business unit

  • Understand markets we sell our products in and the competitive landscape

  • Work on business unit projects including portfolio harmonization, product roadmaps, positioning strategies, competitor analysis, and region-specific plan

Portfolio Development & Management

  • Actively participate in NPDI process for new products to ensure products are being crafted with customers, pain points, market needs, and regional drivers in mind.

  • In collaboration with the broader HPLC business unit team, conduct, analyze and use Voice of Customer (VoC) research to develop and GTM strategies

  • Work with Marketing team to help develop campaigns, marketing materials and collateral as needed

How will you get here?

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Advanced degree highly desirable.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years-experience in Sales/Marketing within analytical instrumentation or related segment.

  • People management experience a plus

  • International business experience highly desired

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Professional selling and account development skills

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Demonstrated leadership and project management experience

  • HPLC product knowledge or related highly desired

  • Ability to travel globally as required

  • Ability to understand technology and articulate strong customer value/benefit propositions.

  • Independent, self-starter with the ability to work as part of a diverse and global team.
