Northrop Grumman Assoc Engineer Mission Assurance in Princess Anne, Maryland
Acts as an Operational Safety Supervisor for launch operations. Defines and monitors mission assurance program specifications and processes to ensure mission success of programs. Performs or assures quality, risk management, safety, reliability and maintainability of program achievements, subcontractors, and suppliers in accordance with contractual requirements. Assesses program performance and risks, and determines resources to ensure mission assurance.
Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and 5 years experience or high school diploma and equivalent experience with rocket motor handling, rocket launch operation, or similar experience in a safety observer role
Must have excellent customer communication, interaction, and presentation skills
Experience with systems safety engineering analyses, risk analysis, operational risk management, and safety supervision
Understanding of component and vehicle assembly procedures, vehicle inspection requirements, and safety procedures and practices
Ability to obtain Operational Safety Specialist certification in many if not all of the following areas: pressure, lifting, mechanical, ordnance
Willingness to work a flexible work schedule including a 9/80 schedule, extended work week, and travel for durations of up to 6-8 weeks multiple times per year
Must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain a Secret clearance
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Windows
Background in NASA and/or DOD launch vehicles or a mission safety background
Knowledge of rocket launch operations
Ordnance handling experience to include rocket motors
