Eaton Corporation Manager - Government Programs in Prague, Czech Republic

Eaton has opened a new position:

Manager Government Programs (m/f/n)

Location: Bonn Engineering Centre or Prague Innovation Centre

Primary function:

The Manager Government Programs is responsible for creating and securing government funded R&D programs with corporate and division R&D teams across Europe directly aligned with Eaton EMEA Electrical and Industrial Sector strategies.

Further broader goals/responsibilities for this role are:

  • Identify and gain R&D funding sources based upon Eaton’s division strategies, create government funding ideas, including draft concepts and identifying key partners.

  • Create and submit, together with Eaton engineering stakeholders, winning proposals for government funding. This includes managing the external proposal process as well as the internal Eaton bid process (organizing legal reviews with Eaton contracting and compliance team, preparing bid documentation, briefing senior leaders).

  • This requires developing a deep network within Eaton engineering and business teams across Europe to understand technology roadmaps and identify key program priorities.

  • Develop broad network of external stakeholders among European universities, research organizations and partner companies to create an ecosystem supporting Eaton’s interests and opportunities to secure external funding.

  • Creating strategic partnerships, approaching government stakeholders, funding organizations and associations. Drive upcoming funding opportunities. Maintain an up to date understanding of policy developments that might impact division’s R&D strategies.

    Qualifications

We would like you to bring:

  • Engineering/technical degree (PhD preferred)

  • Practical experience in pursuit and execution of technical government programs (academia, industry)

  • Understand European and national funding processes and how the European Commission (Horizon 2020, Horizon Europe), national governments and other relevant stakeholders create grant opportunities

  • Knowledge of one or more of the following is required: electricity grids, power electronics, electric vehicle charging, low carbon vehicles, more electric aircrafts

  • Fluent English (German or Czech is an advantage)

  • Strong communication and presentation skills are essential
