CACI International Business Process Consultant (Playbook) in Portsmouth, Virginia
What You’ll Get to Do:
This position will support aggressive and fast-paced projects in a multitude of work areas to increase the on-time delivery of ships at Norfolk Naval Shipyard (NNSY). It will entail working directly with NNSY personnel at all levels of the organization to improve the processes, workflow, communications, collaboration, reporting and supply chains, which will lead to increases in Aircraft Carrier and Submarine Operational Availability.
More About the Role:
Work independently, within a team and across teams
Support NNSY by working directly with the customer to provide process improvement support to project teams, trade shops and support codes.
Support maintenance availability execution as an advocate to assist with determination of the highest value-added goals, planning and effectively developing and following a course of action, establish and track metrics to determine effectiveness and ensure accountability of the team to their stated goals.
Facilitate working sessions (“workshops”) with NNSY customers to identify highest value-added goals, determine measurements and actions for achieving them, developing a “scoreboard” to display effectiveness of actions, and establish recurring accountability sessions to discuss progress toward goal achievement.
Assist shops, codes, and project teams in concentrating on the critical and controlling path elements that will provide the most value added to their work.
Assist shops, codes, and project teams with identifying areas/processes that are limiting or hindering progress.
Work with supported teams to establish standards, track highest-performing teams’ behaviors, and share them across the corporation (four shipyards total).
Ensure supported teams take specific, measurable actions at the agreed upon standard of quality and consistency to drive goal achievement.
Assist supported teams with measuring progress through metrics development, use of agile methodology, or other scoring systems to determine and track effectiveness of efforts undertaken in pursuit of goal accomplishment.
Promote accountability through fostering a collective desire to hold each other accountable, celebrate victories, correct problems and unify the team.
Provide information for various management systems.
Support, coordinate and manage customer expectations in preparation of documentation, deliverables, and staff assignment as required.
Design, develop, and update operational and performance metrics that measure the status of objectives and their impact on the performance of stated shipyard measures.
Perform data collection and analysis.
Develop, maintain, and execute communication strategies that include all customer stakeholders
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university in a related field and 5+ years of related experience
Training and experience in Agile, Lean, Six Sigma, Shingo, or Theory of Constraints
Demonstrated project management, communication, and facilitation skills
Demonstrated proficiency in the preparation, selection, organization, and presentation of information in a concise and coherent manner
Experience working with stakeholders of varying influence and diverse viewpoints
Experience doing detailed data analysis
Demonstrated interpersonal skills and the ability to function as a team member in a demanding industrial environment
Demonstrated ability to communicate with customers at all levels of the organization in a professional, effective manner
Ability to self-direct, as needed
Ability to maintain focus on approved statement of work (SOW)
Ability to enforce rules of behavior, in an effective and professional manner, among groups large and small, with diverse stakeholders
Ability to keep discussion focused on the topics at hand, with an emphasis on promoting, identifying, assigning, and tracking of specific, measurable actions
Experience in conducting and facilitating meetings with senior leadership
Ability to work both independently and with a team to resolve problems
A self-starter who will seize and maintain the initiative in ambiguous situations
Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Active security clearance (Secret or higher)
B.S. in Industrial and Systems Engineering
MBA or master’s degree in relevant field
Experience using cloud-based knowledge management systems (SharePoint, iNFUSION Suite, Jira, etc.)
Knowledge or experience working in an industrial environment
Knowledge or experience in implementing The 4 Disciplines of Execution (4DX)
Knowledge or experience composing and delivering “how-to” presentations
Certification in Lean, Six Sigma, Shingo, or Theory of Constraints
Project Management Professional Certification
