VMware Sr. Program Manager - Opportunity for Working Remotely in Portland, Oregon


VMware Networking and Security Business Unit (NSBU) delivers Virtual Cloud Network, a comprehensive set of enterprise-class networking and security solutions ranging from NSX Data Center to VMware SD-WAN. The Staff Program Manager will be responsible for oversight and execution of several strategic workstreams that drive competitive differentiation with networking hardware partners. You will work with senior leaders across engineering, product management, marketing, CTO office and executive staff across the wide portfolio of NSBU products. You are a natural team-player, with enthusiasm and perseverance, who knows that it takes a village to accomplish big goals.

Skill set:

  • 7+ years in Program Management, Release Management, Technical Account Management, System Integration, or related fields.

  • Good breadth of knowledge across enterprise networking including L1-L7 OSI stack, switching fabric, NICs, WAN.

  • Familiarity with Intel Architecture and CPUs with features for data plane acceleration, encryption, and security.

  • Understanding of Software Defined Networking, Virtualized Network Functions and Container Networking.

  • Experience with VMware networking products is highly desirable.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including status reporting and presenting to executives.

  • Soft skills with ability to rally groups behind a shared vision, resolve conflicts between stakeholders and bring the best out of coworkers.
