About Transmission and Distribution

Southern California Edison’s (SCE's) Transmission and Distribution Organizational Unit (T & D) is responsible for planning, engineering, constructing, operating, and maintaining transmission and distribution facilities throughout the 50,000-square-mile territory. T&D is the steward of roughly $19 billion in assets that safely and reliably deliver electricity to 15 million residents via SCE’s 5 million customer accounts.

Position Overview

The Senior Specialist will be part of SCE's recently formedTransformation & Distribution (T&D) Transformation Office as we work to implement SCE's vision to lead the transformation of the electric utility industry. This position will report directly to the Senior Manager of the Transformation Initiatives Management (TIM) department under the T&D Business Strategy division within T&D’s Asset Management Strategy and Engineering (AMS&E) Organization.

The Senior Specialist will be responsible for supporting the successful deliveryof transformation initiatives that have widespread impacts to the Organization. The journey to reaching SCE’s Pathway 2045 vision will fundamentally change our strategy and approach to delivering safe & reliable power. The Transformation Office will have an integral role in realizing those changes within T&D.The successful candidate will be responsible for providing analytical and business support to the T&D Transformation Office, which is responsible for the governance, identification, prioritization, and launching of select T&D initiatives.The position will support the T&D Transformation Office by ensuring they have the necessary Microsoft Office and SharePoint subject matter expertise to develop and deliver effective portfolio management capabilities.The successful candidate will have a sharp focus on developing a formal, program structure tailored fortransformation initiative managementwithinT&D.

Typical Responsibilities:

  • Support delivery of T&D’s portfolio of transformation initiatives

  • Working alongside TIM Advisors to develop, organize, and manage program structure for transformation initiatives

  • Capturing meeting notes including key decisions & outcomes , outcomes and action/backlog items

  • Driving & navigating content materials in initiative level meetings

  • Providing Microsoft Office and SharePoint subject matter expertise

  • Develop process flows in Visio or comparable tools

  • Provide charter templates in Word and/or PowerPoint

  • Manage documents in SharePoint

  • Assess funding and labor resource needs/impacts in Excel

  • Project managing select initiative components using the application of Scrum principles

  • Present to stakeholders using PowerPoint

  • Manage initiative schedules in MS Project , Planner and other tools

  • Problem solve with individual process teams to eliminate bottlenecks and improve efficiencies

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Five or more years of experience in the areas of business operations, business process improvement, digital design, automation, and/or cross-functional projects.

  • Experience implementing improvements in operations, in support departments, and/or with suppliers.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office and SharePoint products.

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s or MBA degree

  • Strongwritten communication skills with the ability to clearly capture information discussed in team settings including key decisions & outcomes with rationale supported by data, context, and implications to a wide variety of stakeholders

  • Experience setting up and managing collaboration tools for project teams (e.g. SharePoint, Teams, Octane, Planner, etc.)

  • Experience implementing sustained business operations & processes improvements within an organization using Lean, Agile, or Scrum methodologies

  • Lean Six Sigma (or similar) certification (Yellow/Green/Black)

  • Scrum Master or Product Owner certification

Comments

  • Candidates for this position must be legally authorized to work directly as employees for any employer in the United States without visa sponsorship.

  • Position will require up to 30% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory.

  • Relocation does not apply to this position.
