Adient US LLC Tax Analyst in Plymouth, Michigan

JOB DESCRIPTIONOverview:Tax Analyst - Reporting directly to the Domestic Tax Manager, the Tax Analyst will assist in the preparation of the company's U.S. GAAP income tax provision (ASC 740) and preparation of the company's U.S. tax returns, as well as provide support for tax audits and planning. The Tax Analyst will develop an understanding of Adient's business and the application of federal, state, and local tax laws to Adient's financial transactions.Core Responsibilities:ulliAssist with preparation of U.S. GAAP quarterly and annual income tax provision calculations./liliPrepare tax returns and workpapers for federal and state income/franchise tax returns./liliPrepare estimated payments and extensions, registrations, and other tax-related forms./liliSupport federal and state tax audits./liliAssist with analysis of property, sales and use tax matters as necessary./liliPerform tax research to assist with return filings, tax planning projects and in response to business unit questions./liliSupport compliance with SOX controls./liliRecognize, anticipate and resolve tax issues; make recommendations./liliIdentify, initiate, and implement process improvements to increase staff efficiency./liliWork closely with other members of the Tax Department and other departments on corporate tax projects./li/ulBasic Qualifications:ulliBachelor's degree in accounting or finance/lili2+ years of experience within the Tax function of a publicly held corporation or public accounting firm./liliExperience in preparing US tax returns and ASC 740/liliExperience in developing, presenting and implementing process improvements, new approaches and best practices/liliDetail orientated approach which meets deadlines/liliExcellent research, analytical, and Microsoft Office skills/liliExcellent oral and written communication skills, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently/liliExperience with tax compliance and provision software, such as OneSource and tax research software such as RIA Checkpoint or CCH/li/ulPreferred Qualifications:ulliWorking toward CPA status and/or MST preferred/li/ululliPublic accounting experience preferred/liliExperience with SAP and HFM preferred/li/ululli/li/ululliPlymouth, MI or Milwaukee, WI/li/ulPRIMARY LOCATIONMilwaukee Corp OfficeAdient is an equal employment opportunity and affirmative action employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, protected veteran status, status as a qualified individual with a disability, or any other characteristic protected by law.
