Thermo Fisher Scientific Manager, Marketing Analytics and Insights in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
When you're part of the team at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you'll do important work, like helping customers in finding cures for cancer, protecting the environment or making sure our food is safe. Your work will have real-world impact, and you'll be enthusiastically supported in achieving your career goals.
How you will make an impact:
We are looking for a data analyst leader that sees beyond just reports, that pushes for insights while working independently or leading projects and team members. He/she is versed in industry-leading analytics strategies and is always looking for ways to improve performance digitally and offline. As part of our Marketing Analytics team you will support our Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry business, which represents over $2B+ in sales annually. Data integrations will include systems from numerous sources (digital, offline, sales, revenue, BI, CRM and more). You must be comfortable with hands-on building and connecting data while flexing as needed as we continually evolve and refine our methodologies. The journey will be intense but impactful and rewarding.
You must be a curious and critical thinker. Self-assessment and continual growth are mandatory in analytics as this field constantly changes (new tools, search engine algorithms change, social media approaches evolve etc.). Data and figuring out new efficient approaches must fascinate you. Perfection is the enemy of good; you must be comfortable with 80% complete data. Is it a thrill to strip down old hypothesis and create new ones, then observe, test, and modify some more? Do you have a knack for multitasking and efficiently getting tasks done as you pivot from one to another? When you have enough directional data are you capable of flushing out insight to guide the business?
What you will do:
Lead the development and implementation of various initiatives and processes across functions and business units to monitor and manage performance. These will include monthly or quarterly performance reviews both written and oral.
Apply your skills to automate stitching data together for efficiency; while also applying your expertise to perform or communicate to others the use of complex data models for more statistically confident insights and action plans.
Work with members of marketing teams to develop and communicate actionable, revenue generating insights and strategies by analyzing performance across online and offline channels.
Lead and support the definition of 'metrics that matter' and develop additional reports and dashboards that are increasingly predictive.
Serve as a trusted analytics partner to business and marketing leaders by understanding and presenting actionable commercial and marketing reports and analyses to support business decisions.
