Dick's Sporting Goods Corporate Marketing Intern (Summer 2022) in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

At DICK’S Sporting Goods, interns have the opportunity to work with and learn from the leaders of a growing Fortune 400 company. DICK’S Sporting Goods is returning to campus this year; to recruit, train and develop top collegiate talent into well-rounded retail marketing teammates. During the 11-week summer experience, interns will take on meaningful work assignments and make tangible contributions to the organization’s success. This structured and well-organized program provides on-the-job training, classroom instruction, cross-functional departmental exposure and an end-of-program project presentation. Marketing Planning & Content Internship: * The Marketing Planning & Content Intern will assist in planning, producing and executing marketing strategies and campaign implementations across key business categories. The intern will foster collaborative relationships with various teams including Merchandising, Creative, Production, Brand, Media, CRM, Workflow, Store Ops, Legal, Social, eCommerce and external vendor partners. • Assist in the development of internal DSG Campaign elements • Outline necessary creative needs (both internally produced and vendor produced) to activate the message outbound • Serve as the liaison between the vendors and DSG cross-functional partner to execute campaigns and activations • Build and maintain master marketing calendar of key category moments & product stories representing all outbound marketing including but not limited to: Digital/Paid Social, SEM, Direct Mail, Email, Ecomm Support, Geo-targeted support, Co-Branded Vendor Support • Assumes responsibility for the integrity of all advertised items for assigned category or campaign by reviewing all product and copy content • Attends Weekly Advertising Meetings and Turn-In Meetings attended by Merchandising and Marketing. Prepares required documentation for these meetings that is used to lead both business and creative discussions. *Performance Marketing Internship: * The Performance Marketing Intern will be responsible for partnering with agency and internal team members to plan, manage and execute performance digital campaigns. The intern will work collaboratively with internal marketing teams, agency partners and vendors to maximize the value and efficacy of all performance digital media efforts. The intern may focus on Search Engine Marketing (SEM),Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Social, Comparison Shopping Engine (CSE)/Product Listing Ads (PLAs), Display, and Affiliate channels across Dick's Sporting Goods, Golf Galaxy, and Field & Stream. • Compile data from disparate sources (e.g. Publisher UIs, Web Analytics Platform, Ad Server, etc.) and consolidate into singular reports; Create and maintain daily/weekly trackers to ensure budget pacing and performance are on track; Produce ad hoc reports to challenge Agency regarding core campaign aspects including targeting, creative, budget strategy, etc. • Assist in executing plans between internal (Site Merchandising, Web Analytics, Pricing & Promotions, SEO, Marketing, IT) and external (Agency, Technology Vendor, Engines, Publishers) partners, providing priorities, budgets, direction, etc. to external partners and performance reports and subject matter expertise to internal partners • Audit Performance-Marketing-related technology implementations; Schedule and monitor the output of automated alerts to ensure quick reaction to data issues. • Monitor and share industry trends and best practices relating to the SEM, CSE/PLA, Display, and Affiliate channels. Subscribe to relevant newsletters/publications and attend relevant industry webinars.
