Aerotech, Inc. Associate Product Manager - Controls in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Aerotech, Inc is currently hiring an Associate Product Manager to join the product team in our global headquarters in Pittsburgh, PA. This position reports to the Product Manager of Controls, who oversees our software, controller, servo motor drive, and servo motor products.

Position Summary:

In this role, the Associate Product Manager will contribute to delivering and maintaining software, controller, servo motor drive, and servo motor products for high-end automation markets. This involves independent work such as market research, developing product strategies, and drafting execution plans for those strategies. It also involves putting those strategies and plans into motion by collaborating with our engineering, sales, and marketing teams.

In doing so, you will be managing several products throughout different phases of their product life cycle - including drafting product definitions, guiding product developments, launching new products into markets, and growing products into mature market solutions.

Essential Functions

  • Conducts market research including competitive analysis, customer surveys, customer interviews, joins sales calls, and attends conferences and trade shows

  • Drafts product definitions, product improvement plans, and sales collateral

  • Reports on product performance

  • Supports marketing and selling efforts of assigned products

  • Conducts forecasting and pricing strategy functions

  • Performs user interaction and product performance testing

  • Acts as the voice of the customer to the engineering team

  • Occasionally travel to customers, potential customers, and industry events to help understand market needs and help close sales opportunities

    Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics or similar major from an accredited college or university

  • Experience in signal processing, robotics, control systems, mechatronics, embedded programming, or signal processing

  • Zero to five years of relevant work experience

  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship. Aerotech does not provide US work authorization sponsorship for this position. OPT and CPT visa holders are not eligible for employment if they will need work authorization sponsorship at any time in the future.
