As part of the Deliver organization, Sr. Director, Global Transportation Strategy, is responsible for maximizing value to Johnson & Johnson through the creation and global deployment of strategic transportation capabilities. Focus will be on global transportation management, project management and execution, advanced analytics, performance management.

In this role, the Sr. Director, Global Transportation Strategy:

• Leads and manages the global cross sectors Deliver transportation Projects Portfolio, working with key functional partners and Deliver Segment Leads to ensure flawless planning & execution.

• Leads the governance process for project management for the globe and ensures that projects are prioritized properly, sanctioned and resourced.

• Is accountable for Deliver Global partnership management activities such as contract negotiations, CIP ideation and implementation, opex

• Partners closely with the Global Deliver Excellence team to drive the process for the regional roll-up, across segments, for Strategic Planning, LRFP and BP activity.

• Assists the Global Partnership Leader in ensuring strategic focus of all projects and plays an active role as both member and helping to drive a high performing Deliver Leadership Team.

• Drives a rich portfolio of capabilities, including Network Strategy and Advanced Analytics deployments within global Partnership, in alignment with E2E segment strategies to improve cost competitiveness, add value and advance customer capabilities.

• Works closely with the PMO leaders in Deliver in each region and the Global & Regional Deliver Excellence teams, to ensure consistency and alignment to global Deliver and J&J Enterprise Supply Chain processes and programs.

• Facilitate the platform E2E Supply Chain Leadership team, including driving a regular cadence of business and project reviews linked with the business priorities, challenges, and annual calendar

• Coordinate with the leads for connected business management processes (Portfolio, Capital, Savings, Performance Management, Risk Management, etc) to develop ongoing reporting and update processes for the E2E LT, and to define and identify escalations and continuous improvement opportunities

• Implement an agile and efficient framework and process for project valuation and prioritization and the enablement of profitable tradeoff decisions.

• Implementation of Best Practices experiences in transportation.

• Defines and deploys governance standards to ensure an integrated approach to Transportation management for Deliver.

• Supervises metrics identifying gaps in standards that impact Deliver and leads compliance counterparts throughout J&J to address.

• Drive digitization strategy across Transportation and Global partnership landscape.

• Identify and lead process, data and automation solutions for continuous improvement across Global Partnership organization.

• Pulse and capture transportation market insights for all business segments and translates them into strategic deliverables over both the business planning horizons.

• Work with broader DELIVER organization to ensure transportation directional objectives by segment and by region are incorporated into functional strategy.

• Works with key strategic transportation partnerships within their innovation hubs to ensure technology/process agility is industry leading.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 10 years overall business experience is required, preferably with a focus in Supply Chain, Project & Portfolio Management or Strategy Deployment.

• A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree is required.

• An MBA or Master’s Degree is preferred.

• Proven success working in a complex, highly matrixed, global organization with rapidly changing priorities and tight timelines is required.

• Demonstrated impact in increasingly complex leadership roles, including roles requiring orchestration and influence; E2E mindset and collaborative, influence-based leadership approach

• Knowledge of global transportation industry and networks.

• Transportation negotiations experiences with industry leading transportation providers in each mode of transport.

• Proven skill to balance a focus on operations and strategy, enterprise and segment, value trade-offs

• Track record of developing and building diverse, high performance teams with a strong sense of mission

• Ability to promote a vision and drive change to transform organizations, via strong engagement/communication

• Strong understanding of core Order Fulfillment processes (Customer Service, Warehousing and Transportation)

• Skills to build an organization that will embrace a culture of continuous improvement and customer service

• Demonstrated ability to manage complexity across a broad project portfolio

• Demonstrated ability to build alignment across a complex group of stakeholders at varying levels

• Demonstrated ability to build strong partnerships internally and externally with customer focus
