Applied Materials Senior Program Manager, Global Ethics & Compliance in Phoenix, Arizona

Job Description

This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced compliance professional to join a growing Global Ethics & Compliance team and help implement and sustain an effective ethics and compliance program globally. This is a critical role reporting into the Senior Director, Global Ethics & Compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work together with the Global Ethics & Compliance attorneys, paralegals and data analysts to build and enhance the company’s ethics and compliance function.

  • Develop and execute education and awareness campaigns and employee engagement surveys on relevant topics and initiatives, as part of an annual communication roadmap.

  • Manage the development and presentation of an online Standards of Business Conduct training and related micro-learnings.

  • Compile and analyze information and data to prepare compliance reports for internal and external audiences.

  • Support the development and management of a robust cross-functional ethics and compliance committee.

  • Play a key leadership role for the company’s global compliance champions network.

  • Organize and lead periodic program maturity assessments.

  • Build and maintain policies and procedures databases, program websites, online tools, and mobile apps.


MBA, Master’s Degree in Auditing or Risk Management, or similar advanced degree from a recognized university. Minimum 6 – 8 years’ relevant experience in an in-house environment, preferably in the technology sector.

  • Experience building and maintaining ethics and compliance programs for a multinational company.

  • Experience in designing and implementing initiatives to drive a culture of ethics, including organizational change management.

  • Experience conducting internal investigations and risk assessments.

  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis, and project management skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, impeccable integrity, good judgment, flexible, and pragmatic.

  • Creative problem solver who possesses sound business judgment and is detail-oriented.

  • Collaborative by nature and able to build strong partnerships.

  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, global environment and ability to manage and prioritize a diverse and complex workload.

  • Ability to influence beyond authority in a complex and matrixed organization, including at the executive level.

  • A passion for compliance and operational excellence in driving global, enterprise-wide policies and practices.

  • Experience supporting and collaborating with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) certification is strongly preferred.

  • Ethics and compliance certification from a recognized body (e.g., CCEP, LCEP or TASA) is strongly preferred.

  • Additional language skills a plus.
