As the company's second line of defense, Corporate Risk — or Independent Risk Management — provides independent oversight of risk-taking activities. Independent Risk Management establishes and maintains Wells Fargo's risk management program and provides oversight, including challenges to and independent assessment of, the frontline's execution of its risk management responsibilities. We manage risk according to the Risk Management Framework and ensure all employees understand their individual accountability for managing risk.

This role is part of the Conduct Risk Operational Planning team.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Establish process and facilitate regulatory activities, develop status tracking and communicate to stakeholders on a regular basis

  • Create and support internal plans and documentation to meet Strategic Execution Office expectations. Facilitate closure process and material preparation

  • Challenge process documentation to ensure actions are complete

  • Problem solve and implement solutions and leverage critical thinking skills

  • Develop a process to perform a change assessment to determine any new gaps. Perform change assessment and track actions to align to target state.

  • Monitoring through the sustainability cycles as well as for monitoring change to artifacts after validation in support of the overall plan

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in risk management (includes compliance, financial crimes, operational risk, audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, IT systems security, business process management) or 7+ years of financial services industry experience, of which 5+ years must include direct experience in risk management

Other Desired Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in regulatory relations, leading and writing regulatory responses

  • Experience communicating in both written and verbal formats with Management

  • Legal experience with regulations and/or supervisors

  • Knowledge of regulatory relations, Internal Audit, Compliance and Operational Risk

  • Experience driving and leading organizational change in a dynamic environment

  • Developing management level presentations

  • Certified Risk Compliance Manager (CRCM)

  • Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE)

  • Certificate in Operational Risk Management (ABA)

  • Certificate In Risk Management (CRMA)

  • Certified Risk And Compliance Management Professional (CRCMP)

  • Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP)

  • Certified Risk Professional Program (CRP)

  • Six Sigma Certification

  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
