Position Description :

In this role the Women's Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP) or Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) will have a mixed schedule between General OB and GYN patients.

As a member of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the primary purpose of this position is to function as a Midwife and/or Nurse Practitioner providing independent and/or collaborative management of care with the Ob/Gyn team in accordance with the Department's mission. This care will extend to gynecological and obstetric patients in the ambulatory care setting. The Midwife and/or Nurse Practitioner will also participate in teaching medical and nursing students and provide feedback regarding their performance. The candidate will project a positive image of UPHS through excellent communication, teamwork, teaching, and patient care skills, to support patients/families, facility personnel and UPHS processes to ensure coordinated, efficient, and safe/quality care while providing an excellent experience

Minimum Requirements :

Current Pennsylvania RN license and Pennsylvania

CRNP license

CPR certification, board certified

Prescriptive Authority

RN, MSN required.

At least two years experience, Ob/Gyn preferred.

OR

Currently licensed to practice professional registered nursing (RN) in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and M.S.N. and licensed as a certified nurse midwife (CNM) in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Prior to employment, the CNM must be reviewed by the Credentials Committee and approved by the Medical Board and licensed by the Commonwealth of PA for prescriptive authority. Must have current CPR certification

Position requires articulate, mature, self-directed highly motivated individual with a strong background in Ob/Gyn. Ability to work independently and also as part of a team.

The hours of operation for this role are typically Monday - Friday 8AM - 5PM with rotations shifts of 9:30AM - 6PM
