KPMG is currently seeking a Senior Director, Data and Analytics Enablement to join our Global Data team which is part of the KPMG International organization.
Lead a team of data subject matter professionals, data analysts, data engineers and program managers that enable data to meet the business insights and analytics needs of Member Firms and Global Functions
The Business Owner of the Global Data Supply Chain and the supporting processes and technology solutions; evaluates buy vs build and ensures that day 2 operational processes and procedures are in place and effective to optimize speed to insight, agility, maximize firm investment and manage total cost of ownership
Responsible for the development of the KPMG Global strategy for business intelligence and analytics, including rationalization and optimization of related tools and capabilities and development of multi-year roadmaps to deliver business capability and value
Develop and enhance emerging platform features for machine learning, analytics, cloud data lakes and warehousing and metadata management; drives the evaluation of tools and vendor solutions with rationalization across data and analytics and drives consistency
Oversee the implementation of the appropriate governance structure to prescribe data handling, protection and user provisioning controls, working collaboratively with the Global CISO and others
Accountable for proactive engagement and management of vendor management strategies to ensure optimal value and data capabilities for the firm
Work collaboratively with other Global Data colleagues to deliver data use cases to meet business objectives
Build, develop and lead a high performing team that delivers business value and optimizes cost and time to insight
Minimum fifteen years of recent experience in enabling big data platforms, database architectural strategies, models for applications, metadata tables, data transformation
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university; Master's degree preferred.
Ability to understand the complexity of a matrixed professional services firm / partnership; proven ability to lead in a matrixed manner; ability to maintain a flexible schedule due to travel, deadlines and/or duties outside of normal business hours due to global nature of the role
Proven track record influencing diverse sets of stakeholders and driving common outcomes
Experience in developing, transforming and delivering data strategies to enable big data, analytic, and reporting capabilities, including self-service capabilities; working experience with big data technologies such Azure Data Lake Storage, Data Bricks, Synapse, Azure Data Factory, HDInsight; experience with cloud data lakes, data warehouses, and associated transformation to drive speed to insight and lower total cost of ownership, including establishing and deploying operational processes and controls
Exceptional verbal/written communication, collaboration, negotiation, facilitation and influencing skills to lead an environment driven by customer service and team work with the ability to direct, motivate and empower others to work towards the organization's goals, ensuring efficient allocation of resources across multiple functions; lead and ensure execution of strategic initiatives for the organization; ability to address emerging opportunities and how the team should be organized/staffed to realize them
