Aerotek Research Associate in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Description:

Clinical stage cell therapy company that is seeking a Research

Associate (RA) with experience in molecular biology to join the in-house

exploratory research and discovery team.

In this role, you will have an opportunity to work on your own

independent research projects, as well as with a small team on the cutting edge

of CAR design and development. You will also have opportunities to present

companywide, including to senior management.

This position requires a deep understanding of molecular biology

and its techniques, along with the ability to apply that knowledge for

optimization and troubleshooting.

This position is based in Philadelphia, PA.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Design and implement experimental strategies following appropriate laboratory procedures and techniques with minimum supervision

  • Work closely with Scientists and other staff to perform laboratory processes including general molecular biology techniques and cell culture

  • Cloning and manipulation of complex plasmids and viral vectors

  • Analyze data, interpret results, and maintain accurate laboratory notebook records

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Highest moral and ethical integrity

  • BA/MA/MS or higher in biochemistry, biology, biomedical engineering, molecular biology, or similar field

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in industry

  • Hands-on experience of tumor and immune cell culture

  • Hands-on experience in general molecular biology techniques, including PCR, RNA/DNA isolation/purification, restriction digest/vector construction, and running electrophoresis gels.

  • Hands-on experience with lentiviral production, purification, and characterization

  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and act on data generated during experiments

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience running flow cytometry samples and analysis using FlowJo

  • Experience performing and analyzing ELISAs

  • Experience performing and analyzing results from qRT-PCRs

  • Experience with Electronic Lab Notebooks (ELNs)
