Comcast Manager, Multifamily Product Management in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Comcast’s Xfinity Consumer Services organization is bringing the future to customer homes with powerful, yet simple connected experiences. Multifamily homes (also known as multi-dwelling units, or MDUs) represent both an exciting space for innovation and significant portion of Comcast’s business. A key innovative solution, Smart Communities provides a custom multifamily smart home platform that allows property owners/managers to control smart devices in vacant units and common areas, while residents control smart devices in occupied units in MDU properties. The Product Manager will lead this product’s strategy, evolution, and development. He/she will own the end-to-end product experience to amaze customers who live in multifamily homes. As a secondary responsibility, this individual will drive network enhancements and capacity changes for multifamily properties.
Core Responsibilities for Smart
Define the product strategies for how we improve and evolve Smart Communities as a product and customer experience.
Investigate future potential of the program, such as expanding the product to offer additional options for Comcast Multifamily property owners.
Accountable for executing across the product lifecycle – product discovery, definition, delivery, deployment, and optimization.
Be a champion of product quality, defining success metrics, and continually driving improvements against those metrics.
Partner with various technology teams who will deliver comprehensive solutions for MDUs.
Partner with Marketing, Sales, and Operations to align MDU products with go-to-market strategy and execution.
Evangelize product vision and concepts across internal constituents including executives, business owners, marketing, technology, and field leaders
Core Responsibilities for Network Capacity
Manage go-to-market aspects for network enhancements and capacity changes for multifamily customers
Understand unique customer equipment needs and requirements for multifamily broadband
Work with Network Engineers to understand the latest cable technologies, speeds enabled, building engineering, customer equipment requirements, and deployment timelines across cable homes passed
Coordinate cross-functionally across Network Engineers, Sales and Relationship Managers in Regions to communicate product requirements, availability, and customer impact
Analyze Multifamily housing data and Comcast network planning data to understand availability of different products/architectures across customers
Collaborate with other cable operators to better understand obstacles and solutions for fiber deployments
Collaborates with cross-functional teams to launch new services, features and enhancements on time and within budget.
Gathers input to define product concepts. Justifies expenditures for products. Defines and analyzes markets. Evaluates technologies. Develops detailed product features and requirements and develops implementation plans.
Participates in product modification, cost reduction, margin analysis, advertising and promotion, forecasting, product positioning and pricing strategies.
Accountable for profit and loss or budgetary management for assigned products.
Directs the product planning and scheduling process according to sales volume, inventory requirements and materials availability.
Establishes and implement policies and procedures needed to achieve goals.
Develops, mentors and trains Specialists to ensure department work performance and objectives are met.
Manages, gathers and analyzes competitive intelligence data for product lines.
Provides product support and documentation and develops product materials.
Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
5+ years in product management, product marketing, and/or technology roles, 2+ years working on smart home or telecom related products
Strong product acumen with an obsession over customer needs
Experience managing and having accountability for product delivery
Familiar with consumer broadband technologies and solutions - WiFi, provisioning, back-office and operational tools.
Rare mix of intelligence, integrity, domain knowledge, and verbal agility to earn the trust of business and technical teams across the company.
Excellent project management skills, with a proven track record of successful delivery of projects on time, in line with budget expectations.
