The Opportunity

Leadership role on the Comcast Business Security Team. The Role

Working with the VP, Security Strategy & Operations for Comcast Business, this Director leader will guide security activities for a multitude of Comcast Business initiatives across broad areas of the cybersecurity program. This leader will be responsible for a team of 3 – 5 full-time security technologists, plus additional contractors, and will provide strategic and tactical direction to partners across a highly matrixed environment to ensure leading security practices are implemented to protect Business Services enterprise and commercial technologies, products, and customers. The person in this role will also be responsible for executive reporting on the security hygiene of specific Comcast Business security functions and will present findings on a regular basis to the Comcast CISO as well as the President of Comcast Business.

Responsibilities

  • Lead security program adoption and assurance in various security domains across Comcast Business (e.g. Security Architecture, Identity & Access Management; Data Protection & Privacy; System, Network, and Cloud Security Controls; etc.).

  • Lead a team of FTEs and contractors to provide domain expertise and mentorship for the execution of security hygiene across Business Services operations.

  • Collaborate with peers and colleagues within the Comcast Business Security Team to function as a single team with shared goals and objectives.

  • Ensure consistent security processes and controls are implemented and improved with sophisticated tools and automation.

  • Assist with leading M&A related security integration of acquired companies.

  • Present and clearly communicate risks and recommendations to senior management, business partners, security team members, and IT partners.

  • Drive remediation projects related to security and privacy risks to completion in a timely manner

  • Lead and manage multiple concurrent projects.

  • Track and report on metrics, KPIs, SLAs, and OKRs.

  • Establish good relationships with partners and improve the security culture of the organization.

Required Skills/Experience

  • The ideal candidate will be an experienced security professional with broad demonstrated ability and good technical knowledge. This person will have a passion for leading and influencing teams, assessing and improving controls and processes, and driving security innovation at scale.

  • A proven track record of security leadership and demonstrated success in mitigating security risks in large operational environments with sophisticated, efficient solutions.

  • Capability to communicate sophisticated technical security issues and risks to non-technical partners.

  • Experience in HR management, with the ability to recruit, mentor, and retain hardworking team members.

  • Ability to influence partners in a matrixed environment with meaningful priorities.

  • Good understanding of security architecture, secure development lifecycle, threat modeling, and security engineering.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of professional experience in cybersecurity with 5+ years of leadership experience

  • Expertise across broad security domains, such as product security; SDL; vulnerability management; logging and monitoring; incident management; IAM; asset management; data protection and privacy; security architecture; system, network, and cloud security controls; BCP/DR; GRC; third party security; security awareness.

  • Demonstrable ability to communicate with technology and business leaders.

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills.

  • Advanced security certifications (CISSP, CSSLP, OSWE, CASS, GPEN, CEH, or CISM) are appreciated.
