Candidates who are interested in working at a dynamic organization with a growing team will be interested in this Accounts Payable (A/P) Clerk position, which will match, batch and code invoices, resolve A/P issues, process expense reports, update and reconcile sub-ledger to G/L, and process checks. The Accounts Payable Clerk role is a full-time position based in the Petaluma, California area.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative assistance to the AP/Finance Department

  • Organize, register, scan, and file invoices, checks, and other documents

  • Help with internal and external audits as required

  • Accomplish full-cycle A/P

  • Carry out additional tasks as assigned

  • Provide support to internal business partners

  • Execute daily processes and controls accurately and in a timely manner; ensuring compliance with company policies

  • Validate, record and send checks, including expediting special handling

  • Manage department mail by opening, sorting, and distributing it on a daily basis

  • Order office supplies and perform additional clerical tasks - (25% of the role is administrative in nature)

Requirements

The ideal candidate for this role will have a BS or AA degree, or is pursuing a degree in accounting as we like to be able to promote from within. Experience will be considered in lieu of education.

  • 2+ years of full-cycle AP processing is preferred. Exposure to subcontractor payables is a plus. Reviewing invoices against contracts is an important skill.

  • Expense report processing experience is highly valuable to success in this role

  • Comprehension of an ERP Accounting package and intermediate Excel skills are required.

  • Good understanding of ordering office supplies and equipment

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, especially when interacting with those in the technical and financial backgrounds

  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
