Applies principles of accounting to record and analyze financial information. The ideal candidate must be able to multi-task within a fast-paced, rapidly evolving business environment and possess the flexibility to thrive in a growing company.
Prepare and review daily/monthly general ledger account reconciliations and journal entries.
Participate in the month end close process, including the preparation and review of reconciliations and certifications of general ledger account balances.
Research and resolve reconciliation discrepancies or out of balance conditions.
Prepare and review various schedules and reports for the accounting department’s deliverables, including variance analysis for the assigned accounts.
Support the accounting team in the delivery of the operational agenda in the area of loan accounting.
Perform ad-hoc analyses and projects as needed.
Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
Proficiency with Excel & Word required.
Strong organizational skills.
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
At least 2 years of general ledger accounting and/or financial reporting experience.
Public accounting experience is a plus.
Good working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and procedures.
Strong analytical, technical, organizational, and problem solving skills.
Ability to work well independently as well as in a team.
Professional attitude and demeanor and the ability to exercise good judgment.
Flexibility to work additional hours as needed.
Knowledge PeopleSoft, FIS, and LPS a plus.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year College or University; and at least 2 years general ledger accounting, financial reporting and/or auditing experience.
