Pacira BioSciences currently has an opening for a Contracts Associate.
The primary purpose of this position is to support the legal department with a variety of legal issues, including but not limited to: (1) drafting, reviewing and approving certain legal corporate contracts, (2) ensuring legal compliance for all contracts, drafts, internal procedures, standard operating procedures and other relevant legal processes, and (3) assisting with various projects, litigations, and investigations as needed. Individual will review contracts for certain key terms, draft template agreements, act as a liaison with all corporate departments, obtain appropriate departmental review, ensure all contracts meet legal compliance requirements (including compliance with FMV and AKS requirements), and will utilize the electronic document routing system. In addition, this position will assist the legal and compliance department as needed.
Negotiate clinical trial agreements and assist with drafting of Healthcare Professional Consulting Agreements, including compliance and FMV review.
Direct incoming, and outgoing contracts across all facets of business to ensure appropriate receipt of documentation and routing for approval.
Review and edit contracts for key provisions including but not limited to; terms and conditions, payment terms, travel language, prerequisite contracts, billing and accounting address, and company insurance requirements.
Prepare and disseminate information to purchasing and finance departments regarding contract status: ensure the contract is in compliance with legal requirements and owner specifications and government regulations, specifically the Sunshine Act and the Anti- Kickback statue.
Manage document routing system for contracts and incorporate any changes into contracts.
Maintain detailed organized electronic files.
Obtain signatures on final contracts using Docusign system.
Research/review/maintain Pacira contracts to ensure favorable terms for the Company.
Act as first point of contact with business for most communications legal for resolution of contract requests and issues.
Assist attorneys with drafting of National Accounts and Managed Markets meetings, including all materials regarding IDNS, GPOS, System and Hospital Agreements.
Upkeep of detailed and complex company-wide Ariba contract document routing system, as well as management offsite storage and archives.
Assist, as needed, with various projects, litigations, and investigations.
Associates Degree from accredited College or University required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Paralegal Certification preferred.
Minimum 5 years professional work experience in life sciences or biotech industry; prior experience in a corporate setting required
Minimum 2-years hands on experience in review and process of legal contracts.
General knowledge of contracts preferred, or business acumen.
Knowledge of Ariba/P2P/SAP electronic systems for contract management, Docusign, and Smartsheet preferred.
Familiarity with pharmaceutical compliance laws and regulations, such as Sunshine Act and Anti-Kickback Statute.
Strong demonstrated Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Demonstrate high level of accuracy; high attention to detail.
Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities and meet deadlines.
Ability to communicate effectively across all levels and departments of the organization.
Experience working in a fast-paced environment with multi-project and multi-product manufacturing industry.
