For living conditions visit: www.havasuchamber.com Responsibilities Plans, schedules and coordinates operational and maintenance activities for hydroelectric equipment, structures, dam, waterways, roads, associated facilities, and auxiliary equipment. Provides direct input to the Manager, Parker Dam, and foreman on major maintenance assignments, including development of technical specifications for replacement equipment. Inspects, tests or supervises testing, and prepares reports, field drawings and records of technical equipment for immediate use and future reference. Establishes comprehensive testing procedures and standards to guide maintenance forces in the performance of their work. Provides supervision, guidance, and staff assistance in allmatters relating to REMMS (Reclamation Enterprise Maintenance Management System) for the Parker Dam Field Division. This includes developing maintenance schedules for the performance of work, job forecasting, scheduling, reviewing, dispatching, and reporting of maintenance job orders and cost records. Determines the materials, tools, special equipment, etc., necessary to perform scheduled work. Assists with administrative functions, clerical support for the foreman, T&A reports, equipment history cards, supply records, and routine reports. Initiates and carries out an effective safety program. This includes provisions contained in Reclamation Safety and Health Standards, FIST (Facilities Instructions Standards, and Techniques), and OSHA regulations. Keeps the Parker Dam Manager informed of significant administrative, operational and technical problems encountered and recommending remedial measures or changes in policies or procedures to increase efficiency, reduce operation and maintenance costs, and/or improve morale and working relations of Division employees. Recommends employee training, and assists with the indoctrination and training for new employees Requirements Conditions of Employment You must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National. You must maintain a valid State Driver's License at all times as the position requires operation of government vehicles on government and public roads. Failure to maintain a valid State Driver's License at all times will result in removal from the position. Parker Dam is critical infrastructure for the continued operation of the Colorado River. The electricity generated at Parker Dam is also vital to maintain a stable electrical grid. In the event of an emergency condition due to equipment failure, lightning strike, earthquake, or other emergency conditions restoration to the river is crucial. This makes a timely response to these conditions critical. For this reason, this selectee must have their primary residence within 60 minute drive time to Parker Dam. Much of the equipment that is operated and maintained is specialized and requires journey level knowledge of a Hydroelectric Mechanic or Hydroelectric Electrician. Although journey level knowledge of both crafts supervised is not mandatory to the incumbent, journey level knowledge in one of the two is required and MUST be reflected on your resume.
