Kforce Security Dispatcher in Palo Alto, California

A Kforce client in Palo Alto, CA is currently hiring for a contract to hire Security Operations Dispatcher. This is an urgent need. This will start as a contract for 6 to 12 months and is expected to convert to a full-time role within the company.Responsibilities will include:

  • The dispatcher will sit in the operations center

  • Handling the coordination of the officers in the field (between 15-20 officers on diff assignments). Making sure everyone is where they are supposed to be

  • They are the point person for receiving any requests like simple non-emergency issues (unlock a door) to medical emergencies (Hazmat, fire, etc.); Some interactions like a 911 dispatcher would have

  • Would have approximately 100 interactions a day inbound (email, phone, etc.)

  • The reason for the need is that the operations center has grown over the last few years; More traffic and call volume, and need to staff up

  • Will use technology to log every call that they get, and who gets assigned to it

  • They use video recording SW and C-Care when someone accesses the door, etc. will get training at SHC for this

  • Some background in dispatching, security environment; 911 dispatcher type, or a high level security officer or supervisor type

  • Has some technical knowledge (savvy with a computer)

  • Understanding of security principles in general

  • Don't have to have a long resume in security, but have an understanding of what they're doing, and how an operation works

  • Ideally, coming from 911 dispatching, or security ranks

  • Should be able to work independently, decision need to be made in the moment
